Adobe Systems Inc. (ADBE), the San Jose, Calif., producer of digital publishing technology, unveiled a viewer designed specifically for digital magazines.

In a Tuesday statement, Adobe said that it developed the viewer with Conde Nast's Wired magazine, which recently introduced a digital edition for the Apple Inc. (AAPL) iPad.

Adobe said that it would make the digital viewer available across multiple hardware platforms.

"Readers are able to experience the design fidelity of a print magazine with the dynamic interactivity of digital media," Adobe said in a statement. And on the advertising side, the Adobe viewer technology encourages readers to interact with the brands, Adobe said.
