The second episode of the BBC’s Doctor Who: The Adventure Game will launch on www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho on Saturday.
Set in an abandoned Arctic research centre, Blood of the Cybermen will be available for download immediately after the finale of the TV series. The second episode of this landmark interactive adventure, expected to bring back an old foe not seen on screen since the ’70s, has been executively produced by Steven Maffat and stars the voice work and digital likenesses of the delicious Karen Gillan and the frankly odd Matt Smith, the youngest of the eleven Doctors so far.
“Blood of the Cybermen is classic ‘Who,” says Phil Ford, Writer, Blood of the Cybermen, Doctor Who Waters of Mars and The Sarah Jane Adventures. “From the intriguing title, through the pre-credits intro to the mystery surrounding the Arctic base, this is everything you expect from a TV episode… It’s an epic story, and one we could only tell in a computer game. We’ve ambitious sets, a thrill-a-minute narrative, and we re-introduce a Doctor Who adversary not seen since the Tom Baker era.”
The first episode ‘City of the Daleks’ received over 525,000 download requests in its first 12 days. Expect a Mac version sometime after its arrival on the PC.
